Helping you pivot through your small business journey.

Does your dream seem like a nightmare?

Dream or Nightmare?

Does the task of starting a business seem either vague, or daunting, or expensive, or something that just takes too much time or money? Does your dream seem more like a nightmare?

Does any one…or ALL of these things stop you in your tracks so that you WANT to start a business, but you just can’t seem to get excited about it and actually DO something?

I mean.. I get it. You have the idea, and you have the desire, and the entrepreneurial spirit, but when it just comes down to ‘There is just SO MUCH TO DO… and it’s JUST ME’.. “how am I going to get this thing started …. And then, BE SUCCESSFUL?”

Well, believe me, you’re not the only one to have these thoughts and feelings. It’s quite common.

But when you climb a mountain, you only do it one step at a time. There’s no jumping UP the mountain. Right?

So… with determination, and courage, and focus, and ENERGY, you can climb the small business startup mountain, and eventually get to the top.

You can do it. I know you can.

So many others have already had the same challenges, but they kept at it and GOT IT DONE.

Someone told me a long time ago when I was a teenager about to go to college…. ‘If others can do it, so can you. They’re no different than you. They have the same skills, doubts and fears and limitations that we all have.’

So, the concept is the same here… If a LOT of other people can start a business and be successful, then so can you. Hey, if I can do it, I know you can.

Will it be challenging? Yes. Will it take a huge commitment? Yes. Is there a chance that you could fail? Always.

But not trying.. AT ALL.. is already failing.

But what’s worse.. trying and failing, or regret?

I’ve lived long enough to know a lot about regret.

The Good News About Failure

The good thing about trying and failing, is that you now know more about what doesn’t work which increases your chances of succeeding the next time.

But there are ways to have a leaner, cheaper, faster business startup. It doesn’t always have to take a lot of time or money, or a 17 page business plan (like what I did).

If you’re a small, services based personal brand business, you can get the business registered at the County Courthouse and get your LLC later on, when you have a bit more money. The website can be a small and simple one to get you started. Social media can be handled for free at first. You can go to Fiverr and get some graphic design done on the cheap (I did). You can create a blog for free. You can even start a podcast for free nowadays.

You can build a team of independent service providers around you that only gets paid for certain tasks so that you can keep your expenses down. By not hiring others to be on your payroll, you won’t have that immediate overhead commitment that you now have to worry about. Keeping expenses down keeps your stress level down also.

There are a lot of low budget ways to turn your dream into a reality.

So dream, and dream, and dream some more. Don’t stop dreaming. Don’t stop thinking of good ideas. ONE of those good ideas will turn into a GREAT IDEA.

Keep believing in yourself. I believe in you. “How?” you say, when I don’t even know you?

If I can do it, so can you.
